The Consortium

The consortium includes the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA), the University of Virginia, FabLab Winam in Kisumu, and REACH for Uganda. Over 25 years, REACH has established two clinics, two primary schools, and a high school in the region.

The Program

A full-time engineering teacher, Moses Kumenya, directs the Sangala Innovation Center. His students are collaborating with students at the University of Virginia and in Virginia schools.

Addressing Knowledge Barriers in the Global South

Solutions piloted in one community are published in the Educational CAD Model Library and disseminated through ITEEA’s Engineering byDesign curriculum, taught by a network of more than 5,000 engineering and technology teachers internationally.
